Overview
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Delivery Driver / Trade Counter Assistant to join our dynamic team. This dual-role position offers an exciting opportunity to combine hands-on delivery responsibilities with customer service at our trade counter. Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles to deliver goods to customers across designated areas, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Assist customers at the trade counter by providing product information, answering queries, and processing sales transactions
- Load and unload goods with proper handling techniques, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, delivery schedules, and inventory records
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding delivery updates, customer requests, and any issues encountered during routes
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after deliveries to ensure safety and compliance
- Support warehouse operations by organizing stock, preparing orders for dispatch, and assisting with stock replenishment as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role involving commercial driving
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; driver certification is preferred
- Experience driving various types of commercial vehicles or trucks is highly desirable
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks regularly
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members
- Previous warehouse experience is advantageous for understanding stock management and logistics processes
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
