PAYE Service & Breakdown Engineer
Salary: £40,000 Basic Salary
Location: Slough & Reading (SL/RG Postcodes) – occasional HP coverage required
Hours: 45 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent
Call Out: 1 in 4 Rota
We are currently recruiting for an experienced PAYE Service & Breakdown Engineer to join a leading social housing contractor, covering the Slough and Reading areas.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Gas Engineer looking for a secure, long-term position with a reputable organisation!
The Role
As a Service & Breakdown Engineer, you will be responsible for completing gas servicing, repairs and breakdown works across domestic social housing properties. You will be expected to deliver high-quality workmanship while providing excellent customer service to tenants.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, repairs and breakdowns on domestic heating systems.
- Complete gas safety checks and ensure all works are completed to industry standards.
- Diagnose and repair faults efficiently and effectively.
- Attend properties across the SL and RG postcode areas (with occasional HP coverage).
- Provide excellent customer service when dealing with tenants and residents.
- Complete all relevant paperwork and update job information accurately.
- Work safely in line with health and safety procedures and company policies.
- Participate in a 1 in 4 call out rota.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a qualified Gas Engineer.
- Proven experience working within social housing environments.
- Full relevant ACS qualifications including:
- CCN1
- CENWAT
- CKR1
- HTR1
- Clean DBS (essential).
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
- Checkable work references.
