Job Summary
GoldComex Precious Metals & Trading Ltd is seeking a Director of Supply Chain & Logistics to oversee the secure international movement, storage, and delivery of precious metals. You will lead procurement, inventory control, logistics partners, and operational risk management across the trading supply chain.
What you'll do:
- Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies aligned with organisational objectives, focusing on process improvement and continuous optimisation.
- Lead cross-functional teams in managing procurement, logistics, inventory control, and distribution activities to ensure timely delivery whilst maintaining cost efficiency.
- Utilise data analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and SQL to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), identify trends, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Oversee the utilisation of ERP systems including SAP ERP, Oracle EBS, and other relevant platforms to streamline operations and enhance system integration.
- Conduct root cause analysis using Six Sigma methodologies to resolve supply chain issues promptly and prevent recurrence through process enhancements like Kaizen initiatives.
- Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments to optimise logistics workflows and improve service levels.
- Lead process improvement projects employing methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen to optimise workflows and reduce waste.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and organisational policies across all supply chain activities.
- Manage budgets related to procurement and logistics operations while identifying opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality or service.
Requirements
- Significant experience in supply chain, logistics, commodities, metals, or high-value goods.
- Proven leadership of procurement, warehouse, and transport functions.
- Strong knowledge of international shipping, customs, inventory control, and supplier management.
- Excellent commercial judgement, risk-management, and negotiation skills.
- Relevant supply-chain, logistics, or business qualifications.
- Familiarity with logistics operations, inventory management systems, and supply chain optimisation strategies.
- Excellent leadership abilities with experience managing cross-functional teams across multiple locations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis effectively.
- Relevant qualifications in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related fields are preferred.
Pay: £63,000.00-£97,000.00 per year
