Are you an experienced Communication Support Worker professional ready to lead a specialist team supporting Deaf learners? This fixed-term opportunity has arisen to provide leadership continuity within our specialist support services during a planned period of senior team cover. The role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced CSW professional with team leadership experience, to step into a position to influence service development, and lead a highly skilled team supporting Deaf learners across a range of educational settings.
You will:
- Lead, motivate and develop a specialist team of CSWs and CSW Plus staff
- Manage staff deployment, timetabling and operational delivery across a range of educational settings
- Oversee recruitment, induction, performance management and professional development
- Maintain high-quality service standards and provide leadership on SEND and EHCP implementation
- Build strong relationships with colleagues, families and external partners to ensure exceptional learner support
What we're looking for:
- Qualified CSW with experience of performance management, quality assurance and staff development of CSW professionals
- Qualified to BSL Level 3 or above
- Strong knowledge of Deaf culture and Deaf education
- Experience managing CSW teams or similar specialist support services
- Excellent organisational skills, including workforce planning and timetabling
- Knowledge of SEND legislation, EHCPs and the SEND Code of Practice
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with students, families, colleagues and external partners
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
