Activities Co-Ordinator - Summerdale Court Nursing Home
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activities Co-ordinator to join our team in providing enriching experiences for residents in our nursing home. The ideal candidate will have a passion for senior care, particularly in engaging individuals with dementia and Alzheimer's, ensuring they lead fulfilling lives through meaningful activities. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to create a warm, inclusive environment for all residents.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging activity programmes tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
- Coordinate and oversee daily activities, ensuring participation from all residents.
- Foster relationships with residents, families, and staff to promote a sense of community.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of activities and make adjustments based on resident feedback.
- Collaborate with caregiving staff to ensure activities are aligned with individual care plans.
- Organise special events, outings, and celebrations that enhance the quality of life for residents.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity outcomes.
Experience
- Previous experience in a nursing home settings is preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's care is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills are necessary for effectively interacting with residents, families, and team members.
- A creative mindset to develop innovative activities that cater to diverse needs within the care home environment.
