An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 7 Dietitian to join the Therapy Services team within the Private Patients Unit (PPU) at the Royal Free Hospital.
The PPU provides care across a range of specialties including HPB, renal and dialysis, oncology, gastroenterology, hepatology, surgery, respiratory medicine, neurology, elderly care, haematology, diabetes, and critical care. The successful candidate will lead the dietetic service, delivering a highly specialist, evidence-based nutrition service to patients with complex nutritional needs across both inpatient and outpatient settings.
A key element of the role is the opportunity to establish and develop a new outpatient dietetic service, designing referral pathways, clinic models, and service standards while ensuring a seamless patient journey. Working closely with consultants and multidisciplinary teams, the post holder will drive service development, quality improvement, and the delivery of gold-standard, patient-centred care within a private healthcare environment.
The post holder will lead and develop the PPU dietetic service, providing specialist nutritional care across a range of complex clinical areas.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering expert nutritional assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management for patients with complex needs.
Providing high-quality care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Developing and implementing a new outpatient dietetic service, including referral pathways and clinic models.
Managing a specialist caseload including HPB, renal and dialysis, oncology, gastrointestinal, diabetes, and surgical patients.
Working collaboratively with consultants, nursing teams, therapists, and dietetic colleagues.
Running face-to-face and virtual outpatient clinics.
Acting as the clinical lead for dietetics within the PPU and providing specialist advice to healthcare professionals.
Leading quality improvement, audit, and service evaluation initiatives.
Supporting strategic service growth and development.
Contributing to multidisciplinary education and training.
Maintaining accurate clinical records and outcome data.
