Financial Controller
Location: Wirral
We are currently looking for an experienced and well-established Financial Controller to join one of our clients based at their Wirral Head Office. The company is a growing organisation, and the business operates within the modular manufacturing and construction sector, delivering high-quality, innovative building solutions across the UK.
The Role
Due to continued growth within the company, we are seeking a strong Financial Controller to manage the finance team. This is a hands-on role, suited to a commercially minded finance professional who can take ownership of the finance function, support operational decision-making, and help drive business performance. The role will be varied and some key responsibilities include:
- Financial Management & Reporting
- Cost Control & Commercial Support
- Compliance & Controls
- Cash Flow & Treasury
- Systems & Process Improvement
- Team & Stakeholder Management
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a professional who will be able to step into the role and make an impact from their first day, you will have a proven background and experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or similar senior finance role. No day is the same so someone who enjoys working under a fast paced and everchanging environment would succeed in this role. Some other ideal key skills would be:
- Experience within building construction or manufacturing
- Strong management accounting and financial reporting background
- Excellent Excel and financial analysis skills
- Commercially focused with a practical, hands-on approach
- Ideally must be CIMA or ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
- Experience with job costing, WIP, or manufacturing costings
- ERP or finance system implementation experience
- Previous experience in an SME or owner-managed environment
- Please note this role is office based.
