Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of system architectures utilizing tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks to produce detailed schematics, layouts, and mechanical drawings.
- Conduct root cause analysis on system failures or performance issues using MATLAB, Python, C++, and other programming languages to identify underlying problems swiftly.
- Develop and validate firmware for embedded systems using ARM processors, ensuring reliable operation through rigorous debugging and soldering techniques.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create comprehensive system designs incorporating electrical engineering principles, surface mount technology (SMT), and surface-mount device (SMD) assembly processes.
- Perform signal processing analysis and simulation with Simulink to optimize system performance under various operational conditions.
- Utilize CAD software to develop detailed schematics for electrical systems and mechanical components, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Support prototype testing by troubleshooting hardware/software integration issues, performing debugging procedures, and refining firmware or hardware as needed.
- Apply your knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), surface mount technology, and microcontroller programming to develop scalable automation solutions.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing system data for root cause analysis, identifying areas for enhancement in design or manufacturing processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
- Proven experience with System on Chip (SoC) architectures and embedded system development.
- Strong proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks for designing electrical schematics and mechanical layouts.
- Hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and simulation; programming skills in Python, C++, Perl, or similar languages are essential.
- Knowledge of electrical systems design including schematics creation, circuit analysis, signal processing, and firmware development.
- Familiarity with debugging techniques for embedded systems and hardware troubleshooting including soldering and signal integrity analysis.
- Mechanical knowledge related to surface mount technology (SMT), soldering techniques, and mechanical assembly processes.
- Experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), ARM microcontrollers, or similar embedded platforms.
- Strong analytical skills for root cause analysis coupled with excellent problem-solving capabilities in complex technical environments.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams while maintaining attention to detail in documentation.
