Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Dispensary & Counter Assistant / Technician to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will support the pharmacy operations by accurately dispensing medications, assisting with patient care, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about healthcare and medication management to develop their skills within a professional environment. Duties
- Prepare and dispense prescribed medications accurately under supervision, ensuring adherence to safety protocols
- Assist pharmacists with medication administration and patient consultations as required
- Maintain organised records of prescriptions, stock levels, and patient information in accordance with data protection standards
- Support the pharmacy team in managing inventory, including stock replenishment and expiry date checks
- Provide excellent patient care by answering queries and offering guidance on medication usage
- Ensure the pharmacy environment complies with health and safety regulations, including cleanliness and organisation of work areas
- Support administrative tasks such as processing prescriptions and updating patient records
- Assist and advise customers when making over the counter purchases.
Experience
- Successful candidates for the pharmacy technician role must have a BTEC or NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) and the right to work in the UK. Proof of qualification will be required.
- Previous experience as a dispensary assistant is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Previous experience with the supply of medication to Care Home settings is desirable but not essential.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to minimise errors in dispensing medications
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, members of the team & healthcare professionals
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
