Our Homes Matter is a fast-growing kitchen and bathroom installation company, known for its craftsmanship, professional service, and high level of customer satisfaction.
We are now looking for a skilled and reliable Painter / Decorator to join our expanding team on a full-time basis. Our sites are predominantly within London area, but some outside of London travel will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
Surface Preparation
- Prepare walls, ceilings, woodwork, and other surfaces by filling, sanding, stripping, and repairing defects
- Remove old wallpaper, paint, and damaged finishes where required
- Apply primers, sealers, stain blockers, and undercoats to ensure a professional finish
- Protect floors, furniture, kitchens, and completed works using appropriate coverings
Painting & Decorating
- Apply high-quality finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment where appropriate
- Paint walls, ceilings, woodwork, doors, skirting boards, architraves, staircases, and cabinetry
- Hang wallpaper, feature wall coverings, and decorative finishes when required
- Carry out internal and external decorating works across residential and commercial properties
- Ensure colour consistency and high-quality workmanship throughout every project
Repairs & Finishing
- Repair cracks, holes, damaged plaster, and minor surface imperfections prior to decorating
- Caulk gaps and prepare joinery for final decoration
- Carry out snagging and touch-up works before project handover
- Ensure all decorating work meets company quality standards and client expectations
Site Coordination
- Work collaboratively with company fitters, tilers, electricians, plumbers, and other trades on site
- Coordinate decorating schedules to align with project programmes
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
- Communicate progress, material requirements, and any site issues clearly to the project manager
Documentation & Quality
- Record materials used and works completed where required
- Report any defects or additional works identified during projects
- Ensure all completed work meets company quality standards and industry best practice
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a professional Painter & Decorator
- Proven experience in residential property refurbishments and decorating
- Excellent preparation and finishing skills
- Ability to produce high-quality finishes with strong attention to detail
- Experience working with a wide range of paint systems and decorating materials
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and project specifications
- Full UK driving licence
- Own vehicle and professional decorating tools
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
