Kitchen Porter – Part-Time
Murphy Browns is seeking an experienced and reliable Part-Time Kitchen Porter to join our dedicated hospitality team.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash, sanitise, and store dishes, glassware, cooking utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Operate and maintain the commercial dishwasher
- Keep kitchen, wash-up, and storage areas clean, organised, and hygienic at all times
- Assist with basic food preparation when required
- Ensure correct stock rotation and storage procedures are followed
- Clean and sanitise work surfaces, equipment, floors, and other kitchen areas, including sweeping and mopping
- Complete daily and weekly cleaning schedules and records
- Dispose of waste and recycling in accordance with company procedures
- Maintain strict compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, and HACCP requirements
- Support the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations
Requirements
- Previous Kitchen Porter experience is essential – applications without relevant experience will not be considered
- Strong work ethic with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
- Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and cleanliness standards
Position Details
- Hours: Wednesday to Friday, 5:00pm – 9:00pm/10:00pm (depending on business levels)
- Job Type: Part-Time, Permanent
- Probation Period: Successful candidates will be subject to a 12-week probationary period, during which performance, attendance, reliability, and suitability for the role will be assessed.
