Cook's Cast Stone is an expanding company in Market Weighton, East Yorkshire. We specialise in the design and casting of both garden and architectural cast stone for the garden and construction industry. This involves bespoke mould and design creation using both fibre glassing and joinery work (Spindle Moulder etc). After the moulds are created we natural aggregates are compacted and finished ready for curing and dispatch to sites across the United Kingdom. Examples of the projects we undertake are: Cast Stone Terraces, Bullnose Pool Surrounds & Windowsill/Heads.
This is a highly varied role with many different aspects of practical skills required. We are looking for people with good practical skills and a strong work ethic. Lifting is required as part of job. We are family run business that provide stable employment and the chance to progress and develop for the right employee.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
- Assemble both timber & fibreglass moulds
- Ensure quality standards are met throughout the manufacturing process
- Cast stone designs using pneumatic hammers
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment
- Collaborate with team members to improve production workflows
- Operate large cement mixers to the correct ratio's of limestone, sand & cement
- Finishing "Wet" Architectural cast stone using trowels & floats
- Ensuring the curing process is completed correctly
- Qualifications
- Proven knowledge relevant to manufacturing processes of cast stone
- Experience using hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to assemble & release castings/moulds accurately & correctly.
- Previous warehouse experience is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Physical dexterity and stamina for manual tasks.
- Basic Mathematics (Tape measure use required)
- Strong work ethic
