Nursery Manager – Maternity Leave Cover

Little Lambs Nursery is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and dedicated Nursery Manager to join our team on a temporary basis, providing maternity leave cover for our current Nursery Manager.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about early years, enjoys leading a team and is confident in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of a nursery.
The Role
Working closely with the Nursery Director, the Nursery Manager will play a key role in ensuring the nursery operates smoothly and continues to provide a high standard of care, learning and development for children.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Nursery Director with the day-to-day running and management of the nursery
- Leading, supporting and motivating the nursery team
- Ensuring staff work effectively together and maintain high standards of practice
- Supporting with staff management, supervision and organisation
- Overseeing nursery administration and records
- Helping to maintain a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment for children
- Supporting the nursery's safeguarding, health and safety and regulatory requirements
- Building positive relationships with parents, carers and the wider nursery community
- Supporting marketing, promotion and the development of the nursery
- Helping to identify opportunities to improve the nursery and its services
- Stepping up and taking responsibility for the smooth running of the nursery in the Manager's absence
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in an early years/nursery setting
- Confident in a leadership or management position
- Organised, reliable and able to prioritise effectively
- A strong communicator who works well with staff, parents and management
- Passionate about providing excellent care and education for young children
- Able to work independently while also being a supportive team player
- Positive, approachable and professional
- Confident with administration and day-to-day nursery responsibilities
Relevant early years qualifications and management experience are essential.
Hours
40 hours per week
Tuesday–Friday, 8:00am–6:00pm
Monday is the regular day off.
This is a temporary maternity leave cover position, starting ASAP.
