Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Care Assistants to provide high-quality support to individuals in their own homes. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety and comfort, and promoting independence. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be reliable, and have a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives. Experience in home care or care homes is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between clients’ residences. Responsibilities
- Assisting clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Supporting clients with mobility and transfers to promote independence
- Preparing meals and assisting with feeding if required
- Administering medication in accordance with care plans (training provided)
- Providing companionship and emotional support to clients
- Assisting with household chores including laundry, cleaning, and organising daily routines
- Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any concerns to supervisors
- Following care plans meticulously to ensure individual needs are met effectively
- Communicating clearly with clients and their families to ensure satisfaction and understanding of care services
Experience
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided for those new to the sector
- Good IT skills for documenting care activities and updating records electronically
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients and team members
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for travelling between client locations not essential
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Compassionate attitude with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Pay: £13.50-£16.00 per hour
