Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented GP Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will support general practitioners (GPs) by managing administrative tasks, coordinating patient appointments, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Duties
- Manage patient scheduling and appointment bookings using Microsoft Outlook and other scheduling tools
- Prepare and update patient records accurately in electronic health record systems
- Assist GPs with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and document management using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
- Handle incoming calls professionally, providing excellent customer service and directing inquiries appropriately
- Maintain organized clinic files, correspondence, and medical documentation in compliance with privacy regulations
- Support the team with IT-related tasks, including troubleshooting basic software issues and managing office equipment
- Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and external providers to coordinate appointments and follow-up care
Requirements
- Previous administrative experience in a healthcare or medical setting is preferred but not essential
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology to accurately interpret clinical documents and communicate effectively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with Microsoft Outlook for scheduling and correspondence
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
- Demonstrated time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- IT literacy with the ability to adapt to new software or systems quickly
