The Role
As a Factory Operative / Stone Finisher, you'll play an essential part in producing bespoke stone work surfaces to the highest standards. From cutting and polishing to final quality inspections, you'll help ensure every product leaving our factory reflects the quality Athena Worksurfaces is known for.
Working closely with experienced fabricators and production colleagues, you'll operate specialist machinery, use precision hand tools, and contribute to a safe, efficient manufacturing operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate cutting, polishing, and finishing machinery safely and efficiently.
- Use hand tools and specialist equipment to shape, polish work surfaces.
- Follow production drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions accurately.
- Carry out visual quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process to ensure products meet customer and company standards.
- Assist with machine operation, routine equipment checks, and basic maintenance.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve daily production targets and delivery deadlines.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for motivated individuals who take pride in producing high-quality work and enjoy working as part of a close-knit team.
Ideally, you'll have:
- Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, engineering, production, or factory environments.
- Experience operating machinery and using hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy.
- Good mechanical aptitude and confidence working with production equipment.
- The ability to interpret measurements and carry out basic calculations.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- A reliable, honest, and hardworking attitude.
- The ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards.
Experience within the stone industry, but not essential, as full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Physical Requirements
This is an active, hands-on role that requires you to:
- Stand for extended periods.
- Carry out manual handling and heavy lifting.
- Work safely within a busy manufacturing environment.
- Remain flexible and adaptable to meet production demands.
