As a Complex Carer with Coyle Homecare, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care and support to a 10-year-old girl throughout her school day. You will be expected to fulfil the following responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, personalised complex care and support throughout the school day.
- Provide safe and competent tracheostomy care.
- Monitor the child's health and respond appropriately to any changes in her condition.
- Administer medication and first aid in accordance with care plans and relevant policies.
- Respond calmly and confidently to medical emergencies.
- Support the child to access classroom activities and participate in school life.
- Provide emotional reassurance and encouragement.
- Promote independence and support age-appropriate activities wherever possible.
- Work closely with teachers, school staff, parents/carers, and healthcare professionals.
- Follow individual healthcare plans, risk assessments, safeguarding procedures, and care protocols.
- Maintain accurate and confidential care and medical records.
- Communicate effectively with everyone involved in the child's care.
To be considered for the role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Tracheostomy training and practical experience are essential. Please only apply if you have relevant tracheostomy experience.
- Previous experience providing complex care to children or young people.
- Previous paediatric or school-based care experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and confidently respond to changes in a child's condition.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure, particularly during medical emergencies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A caring, patient, compassionate, and child-focused approach.
- Ability to maintain accurate and confidential medical documentation.
- Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional approach to work.
- Care experience of at least 1 year is preferred.
