The Opportunity
Rubix UK is looking for a reliable and customer-focused Insite Stores Operative to support the day-to-day running of an engineering stores operation at one of our customer sites.
You will help ensure engineers receive the correct parts and materials when they need them. From receiving deliveries and issuing stock to maintaining accurate systems and supporting stock counts, your work will contribute directly to customer service and operational uptime.
This is a hands-on role where accuracy, safety and excellent service matter. You will be trusted to take ownership of your work, identify problems early and help us improve how the store operates.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and check deliveries against purchase orders, reporting damaged, missing or incorrect items promptly.
- Store materials safely in the correct locations, using the required labelling, segregation and stock-protection controls.
- Pick and issue materials to authorised users, accurately recording all issues, returns and transfers on the relevant system.
- Complete cycle counts, replenishment checks and stock-location reviews to help maintain inventory accuracy and availability.
- Respond to customer enquiries and provide clear updates on product availability, order progress, delays and next steps.
- Support authorised purchasing, order follow-ups, collections, repairs and returns using approved suppliers and processes.
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready records for stock movements, receipts, credits, queries and adjustments.
- Keep the stores environment safe, clean and organised, following all Rubix and customer HSEQ, security and housekeeping requirements.
- Contribute practical ideas that improve safety, stock control, transaction accuracy, layout or customer service.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience in a stores, warehouse, manufacturing, engineering, distribution or customer-service environment, or relevant transferable experience.
- Good attention to detail, with the numerical ability to process stock transactions and maintain accurate records.
- Confidence using computer systems, email and standard Microsoft applications, with a willingness to learn Rubix systems.
- A safe and responsible approach to manual handling, equipment use, housekeeping and site procedures.
- Clear and professional communication skills, with the confidence to ask questions and escalate incomplete or incorrect information.
- The ability to organise routine work, manage competing priorities and work independently within agreed processes.
- A dependable approach to protecting stock, customer property, confidential information and transaction records.
- A positive attitude towards training, feedback, product knowledge, cross-training and continuous improvement.
- Experience with K8, CribMaster, VMS, vending technology or another stock-management or ERP system would be advantageous.
