Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nursery Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our Nursery. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children and fostering a nurturing environment. This role involves coordinating staff, ensuring high standards of childcare, and maintaining effective communication with parents and stakeholders. The Nursery Manager will play a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and educational space for young children to thrive.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily running of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Lead, motivate, and manage nursery staff, including recruitment, training, and performance appraisals.
- Develop and implement educational programmes in line with early childhood education standards.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and external agencies to promote a supportive community environment.
- Organise staff rotas to ensure adequate cover during operating hours.
- Monitor the quality of care provided, ensuring it meets organisational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records related to children's progress, attendance, and staff documentation.
- Manage budgets and resources efficiently to support nursery operations.
- Promote continuous professional development among team members through training initiatives.
- Ensure the nursery environment is clean, safe, and stimulating for all children.
Requirements
- Proven management and leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting.
- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations.
- Experience working directly with children across various age groups.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are essential.
- Valid driving licence is preferred for operational flexibility.
- Ability to organise tasks efficiently whilst maintaining a nurturing approach towards children and staff.
- A proactive attitude with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

Pay: £32,760.00-£46,800.00 per year
