We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Part-Time Accounts Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for a qualified finance professional looking to contribute strategically and operationally, while enjoying the flexibility of part-time working hours. You will play a key role in managing the company’s finances, ensuring robust financial control, and supporting the leadership team with insightful reporting and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and cash flow management
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management
- Develop budgets and financial forecasts, and monitor performance against them
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
- Ensure compliance with tax, payroll, and other regulatory requirements
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and HMRC as required
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
- Implement and maintain internal financial controls and processes
- Support with grant applications, funding rounds, or investor reporting if applicable
- Managing CIS and VAT processes, including record keeping, reconciliations, and return preparation.
Requirements:
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent desirable)
- Proven experience in a similar finance role (SME or startup experience is a plus)
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Pay: £15.00-£20.00 per hour
