Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Motor Vehicle Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will have their own tools (specialist tools will be provided where required) and be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles, ensuring safety and optimal performance. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostics using model specific computer software and equipment to identify faults in vehicles.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components.
- Utilise hand, air and power tools, and specialised equipment to disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicle parts accurately.
- Execute assembly tasks during vehicle repairs or upgrades, ensuring all components meet safety standards.
- Maintain detailed records of all work carried out and parts utilised for each vehicle.
- Assist with routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, wheel and tyre rotations, and fluid replacements.
- Carry out electronic vehicle health checks.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and addressing client concerns professionally when required.
- Conduct heavy lifting of vehicle parts or equipment safely and efficiently during repairs or installations.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and organisational standards.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Motor Vehicle Technician or in a similar automotive service/repair role. Ford experience preferred but not essential as successful candidate will be enrolled onto the Ford Learn training pathway.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems.
- Electrical diagnostics experience will be a bonus, but not essential.
- Ideal candidate will be proficient in replacing wet belts.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, air tools and diagnostic software.
- Ability to interpret electronic technical manuals and schematics accurately.
- Previous experience providing excellent customer service in an automotive environment is essential.
- Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and work in various positions for extended periods. Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
