Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an exceptional Team Manager to lead the operational delivery of our Youth Justice Service. As part of the Family Help Service, the Youth Justice Service plays a key role within a wider integrated offer, working alongside a range of services that support children, young people and families across Rotherham.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in preventing first-time entrants to the youth justice system, reducing offending and reoffending, safeguarding vulnerable children, and promoting positive futures through child-first and trauma-informed practice.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Youth Justice Service Manager, you will provide leadership and management for Rotherham's multi-agency Youth Justice Service. You will lead the delivery of a comprehensive Youth Justice offer, overseeing both statutory and preventative services aimed at reducing first-time entrants, preventing offending and reoffending, improving outcomes for children and families, supporting victims, and promoting safer communities. Through effective partnership working, you will ensure services are child-first, trauma-informed and responsive to individual needs, while maintaining a strong focus on risk management, public protection and community safety.

You will have:

A passion for improving outcomes for children and a commitment to child-first, trauma-informed, strengths-based and restorative approaches that put children at the heart of everything we do.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding, public protection and creating safer communities.
- Significant management experience within Youth Justice Services, Children's Services or a related field, with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
- Extensive knowledge of youth justice, safeguarding and children's legislation, policy and statutory guidance.
- A proven track record of building strong partnerships across agencies to improve outcomes for children, families, victims and communities.
- Experience of leading quality assurance, performance improvement and service development to achieve excellence.
- Knowledge of HM Inspectorate of Probation frameworks and a commitment to continuous improvement and high-quality practice.
- Confidence in using data, evidence and learning to shape services and deliver meaningful change.
- Strong understanding of risk management, safeguarding and public protection within a youth justice context.
