Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring the safety and comfort of clients during transfers.
- Maintain accurate records of client care and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and encourage independence.
- Ensure that all care practices adhere to health and safety regulations.
Experience
- Previous experience in home care, senior care, or hospice care is preferred but not essential.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of first aid practices is desirable.
- A background in nursing or related fields will be considered an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- A compassionate approach towards patient care, demonstrating empathy and respect for individual needs.
