Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and within their own homes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in promoting residents' well-being, assisting with daily activities, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. Duties
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, respecting their dignity and privacy
- Support individuals with mobility needs, helping them move safely around the premises or within their home environment
- Follow personalised care plans to deliver tailored support that meets each individual's needs
- Encourage social interaction and participation in activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, observations, and any changes in residents’ conditions
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure coordinated care delivery
- Assist with light domestic duties such as meal preparation, laundry, and maintaining a clean environment
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Experience
- Previous experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Basic IT skills for recording information electronically and managing care plans
- Driving licence is advantageous for roles involving community visits or home support services
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and excellent interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with clients
- Awareness of health and safety procedures relevant to care environments
