Duties
- Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks suitable for young children, ensuring variety and balance
- Follow strict food safety and hygiene standards to maintain a clean kitchen environment
- Plan menus in collaboration with staff to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences
- Manage food inventory, order supplies as needed, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
- Assist with meal service, including serving food in a friendly and efficient manner
- Maintain accurate records of meal preparations, dietary notes, and compliance with health regulations
- Support the overall cleanliness of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within a kitchen setting
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper hygiene practices
- Experience working with children or in a childcare environment is preferred
- Ability to follow detailed recipes and meal plans accurately
- Strong organizational skills to manage inventory and meal schedules effectively
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with staff and support team efforts
- Flexibility to adapt to changing dietary needs or special requests from parents or caregivers
