The Swan, Tarporley is looking for an enthusiastic, driven and experienced Bar Manager to lead our bar operation and inspire our team to deliver outstanding guest experiences every day.
As one of Cheshire's leading food-led pubs with 16 boutique bedrooms, a busy events calendar and a reputation for quality, we're looking for someone who shares our passion for excellence.
About the Role
As Bar Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of our bar, ensuring every guest receives exceptional service while maintaining the highest standards of quality, cleanliness and efficiency.
You'll lead from the front, motivate your team, drive sales, develop cocktails and drinks offerings, and ensure our bar is one of the very best in Cheshire.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading, coaching and inspiring the bar team.
- Delivering outstanding customer service every shift.
- Creating a positive, energetic working environment.
- Managing stock, ordering and supplier relationships.
- Monitoring GP and reducing waste.
- Maintaining excellent cellar standards and product quality.
- Ensuring licensing and health & safety compliance.
- Recruiting, training and developing new team members.
- Driving drinks sales through recommendations and upselling.
- Working closely with the management and kitchen teams to deliver seamless service.
- Supporting the wider business whenever required.
We're Looking For Someone Who Is
- An experienced Bar Manager or Assistant Bar Manager ready for the next step.
- Passionate about hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
- A natural leader who motivates by example.
- Organised, calm and confident under pressure.
- Commercially aware with a strong understanding of stock control and gross profit.
- Knowledgeable about beers, wines, spirits and cocktails.
- Excellent at building relationships with guests and colleagues.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends and busy seasonal periods.
