Abbey Gates has been manufacturing and installing high‑quality metal driveway gates and railings across Glasgow and the surrounding areas for over four decades. As our business continues to grow, we are looking to add an experienced Blacksmith / Metalworker / Welder to our skilled and friendly team.
About the Role
This is a hands‑on position involving the fabrication, welding, and installation of metal gates, railings, and associated steelwork. You’ll work both in our workshop and on-site at customer properties, delivering the high standard of craftsmanship Abbey Gates is known for.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabrication and welding of metal gates, railings, and bespoke steelwork
- On-site installation at domestic and commercial properties
- Working with mild steel, wrought iron and associated materials
- Reading and interpreting drawings
- Ensuring high-quality workmanship and safe working practices
Requirements
- Proven experience in blacksmithing, welding, or metal fabrication (essential)
- Experience installing gates and railings
- Confident with MIG welding and general fabrication tools
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
