After further expansion TRC are looking to increase their installation team. As an installer you will be required to work Nationwide building and maintaining ground mounted and carport solar installations. You will be paid a competitive salary, have accommodation provided when working away (generally houses but hotels are sometimes used), stay away allowance, pension and holidays. As an installer you will need to read site design drawings and installation manuals. These will allow you to identify the correct items of framework for distribution and installation. Distribution can be carried out manually or using lifting equipment such as telehandlers and skid steers. Ground mounted systems can be pile driven (piles installed using a piling rig to drive the piles into the ground), screw pile (installed using an excavator & auger to drive the screws into the ground), cross anchor (installed using different tools subject to ground type) and ballasted (above ground installation either loading blocks onto a base plate or bolting down to a large ballast block). Once the foundations are in you will erect the framework and fit the solar panels.
Carports generally have the foundations installed before we arrive on site with the erection of framework and panels being a similar process other than being fitted from a scissor lift due to the height of the structure.
Essential job requirements:
CSCS card (Mandatory)
Willing to work away Monday – Friday (occasional weekends)
Needs to be physically fit and willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions in accordance with work regulations.
Skills that would be an advantage:
Driving Licence
Previous solar installation experience.
The ability to use hand and power tools.
Plant licences such as, telehandler, scissor lifts, 360 excavators, bobcats and dumpers. These are not essential, and training will be given if you are required to use them.
