Level 1 - Pump Academy Engineer
Top 3 Responsibilities:
1. Complete all in house training/ Health and Safety Courses. Successfully complete all vital skills training, basic electrical training, product training, confined space and CSCS training courses prior to attending site for any works.
2. Shadowing/ Assisting on site with Engineers. Attend site with senior engineers, supervisor and engineering manager to assist and gain experience in carrying out service works before being signed off for lone working.
3. Health and Safety. To ensure all aspects of Health and Safety are adhered to whilst on site or in house. All tasks are to be carried out in the safest manner and following all required guidelines.
Mission (What Success Looks Like):
To successfully complete the in-house and on-the-field training program to become a competent Level 2 Service engineer. To ensure all PPS values and principles are adhered to.
Purpose:
To follow a training program for up to 8 weeks to become a competent Level 2 Engineer. To carry out in house training with the Engineering Manager, Technical Team and Warehouse team to gain an understanding of the role.
To shadow the Engineering Manager, Supervisor, and field engineers on site to gain on site experience and training to become competent as a lone service engineer. To assist senior engineers on 2-man sites or service jobs for training and experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES, ACCOUNTABILITY, AND AUTHORITY
Activities (Doing):
- Carry out and complete all vital skills training and Health and Safety courses
- Undertake pipework training, including glueing, cutting, and building assemblies
- Complete in-house product training on PPS equipment, both on-site and in controlled environments
- Assist in the building of pump chambers of all sizes in collaboration with the warehouse team
- Carry out risk assessment training and apply safe working practices on-site
- Participate in basic fault-finding training conducted in-house, training rooms, or in laboratory environments
- Attend sites alongside a senior engineer to shadow, observe, and gain real-world field experience (up to 8 weeks)
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organised manner
- Follow company procedures, safety standards, and quality expectations at all times
Your KPIs (Personal Accountability):
1. Complete all vital skills and Health and Safety Courses.
2. Successfully complete and be signed off from in-house training (product training, pipework glueing & cutting, chamber building, basic product installation, basic fault finding)
3. Successfully complete on-field assessment after shadowing period, to be signed off as a Level 2 service engineer.

- No prior pump engineering experience required (training provided)
- Previous hands-on, mechanical, or trade-related experience is advantageous
- Basic understanding of tools or construction environments is a plus
