Overview
We are seeking a motivated and passionate Junior Chef de Partie to join our dynamic culinary team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills within a professional kitchen environment. The successful candidate will assist in preparing high-quality dishes, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and supporting the overall operation of the kitchen. Prior kitchen or restaurant experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided to the right candidate.
Duties
- Assist in food preparation and meal assembly in line with established recipes and standards
- Support senior chefs in cooking and plating dishes to ensure consistency and presentation quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, adhering to food safety regulations
- Help with inventory management, including storing ingredients correctly and rotating stock
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe working environment
- Contribute to the efficient running of the kitchen during service periods, including serving food when required
- Assist with basic cooking tasks, including chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Support the team in maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the kitchen
Skills
- Proven experience or background in food preparation and cooking within a restaurant or catering environment is desirable
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times
- Good organisational skills with an eye for detail in meal presentation
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Willingness to learn new techniques and improve culinary skills
- Basic knowledge of serving procedures and customer service etiquette is advantageous
