An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Clinical Support Assistant (Sports) to join the Sports Hub at Northgate Park, including the new state-of-the-art Sycamore Unit. The post holder will work as part of the Wider Recovery and Engagement Team, supporting the delivery of innovative, person-centred physical activity and sports interventions.
Northgate Hospital provides inpatient care within medium and low secure environments for men with a range of mental health needs, learning disabilities and personality disorders. The service offers a variety of care and support models tailored to individual clinical needs, including day services, intensive support, individual keyworker sessions and clinic-based interventions.
Main Duties of the Job
The service is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and committed fitness professional with an interest in supporting this patient group through physical activity, sport and exercise.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of a bespoke Sports Hub timetable, providing a range of one-to-one and group-based physical activity interventions both within the inpatient units and in the wider community.
The role requires an individual who can build positive and professional relationships with patients, demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and deliver safe, engaging and inclusive activities that support recovery, wellbeing and social engagement.
The successful candidate will need to be reliable, adaptable and able to respond effectively to changing clinical needs and circumstances, working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure that sports and physical activity interventions are aligned with individual care and recovery goals.
