We are seeking a kind, dedicated, and proactive female Carer/Support Worker to join our team, supporting an outgoing female teenager with learning disabilities and complex health needs within her family home.
This role involves working closely alongside her parents, so being a team player is key, though you must also be completely confident in managing yourself and carrying out tasks using your own initiative.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with personal care and morning routines to help her get ready for school and the day.
- Accurately administering daily/nightly medications.
- Managing medical feeds, including changing her button feed to a water feed for the day. (Full, specialised PEG/button training will be provided directly by the family).
- Providing occasional school drop-offs.
Hours & Shift Availability:
- Multiple shifts patterns, including mornings, after schools, and night shift. 18 Hour JOB ROLE.
- We are looking to fill Sunday morning 2 hours shift, Monday morning 2 hour shift, Monday Night shift, and Wednesday after school shift from school pick up.
Essential Requirements:
- Keen Interest in Care: A genuine interest in working with learning disabilities and a strong willingness to learn. Experience in the care community is preferable, but not a must.
- Full UK Driving Licence: Must be a driver with access to a vehicle for occasional school runs.
- Strict Non-Smoker / Non-Vaper: This is completely non-negotiable. Children in the home have Cystic Fibrosis, and smoking poses a severe cross-contamination health risk.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication is vital for medical logging.
- Clinical Hygiene Standards: Short, natural nails only (no acrylics, extensions, or gel) and hair tied back securely at all times.
- Gender Restriction: Female applicants only (Permitted under the Equality Act 2010, Genuine Occupational Exception).
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £13.20 per hour
Application question(s):
- This is a female only post, do you fit that requirement?
- Do you drive and do you have a car?
- For medical safety and clinical hygiene reasons, are you fully able to comply with keeping your nails short and entirely natural (strictly no acrylics, extensions, or gel polish) and your hair tied back during all shifts?
- Are you a strict non-smoker/vaper?
- We are specifically looking to cover Monday morning 2 hour shift, Monday night 10 hour shift, and Wed after school shift (school pick up) until bed time. PLEASE do not apply if you can't do all of those. These make up the 16 hours. Does this suit you?
