Hawksmoor Construction London Ltd delivers high-quality residential construction projects across London and surrounding areas. Our logistics operation plays an important part in keeping our sites running efficiently by ensuring materials, tools and equipment are in the right place at the right time.
We are looking for a reliable and proactive Logistics Driver to support our construction projects across London and surrounding areas.
This is a varied role involving the collection, delivery and movement of materials, tools and equipment between our construction sites, suppliers and office/storage locations.
The right candidate will be given a company van and the duties will include but not be exhaustive to:
- Deliver and collect materials, tools and equipment between construction sites.
- Collect orders directly from builders merchants and other suppliers.
- Move company-owned tools and equipment between sites when required.
- Complete scheduled collections and deliveries efficiently and safely.
- Load and unload the vehicle, ensuring items are transported securely.
- Follow the daily driver schedule provided by the Procurement team.
- Communicate any delays, issues or changes to the schedule promptly.
- Obtain and provide delivery/collection confirmation when required.
- Carry out regular vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
- Keep the company vehicle clean, organised and in good condition.
- Assist with general logistics requirements across the business when necessary.
What we are looking for:
- Full UK driving licence.
- Over the age of 25
- Previous experience as a delivery, logistics or construction driver preferred.
- Experience driving vans in London and confidence navigating busy areas.
- Good knowledge of London and surrounding areas.
- Willing and comfortable travelling outside London when required, including regular journeys to our project in Cambridge.
- Reliable, punctual and well organised.
- Good communication skills.
- Comfortable with manual handling and moving construction materials and equipment.
- Able to work independently and manage a busy daily schedule.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to help the wider team.
This is a full-time self-employed position, Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with payments made under the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS)
