We are recruiting caring, reliable, and professional Passenger Assistants to support children and vulnerable adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN), disabilities, and additional support requirements on their journeys to and from school or educational settings.

The Role
As a Passenger Assistant, you will work alongside the driver to ensure the safety, welfare, and comfort of passengers during transport.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist passengers when boarding and leaving the vehicle.
- Ensure passengers are safely seated and seatbelts or approved restraints are correctly secured before travel.
- Supervise passengers throughout the journey.
- Support children and young people with SEN, disabilities, or additional needs.
- Help maintain a calm, safe, and positive environment.
- Report incidents, concerns, safeguarding matters, non-attendance, and journey issues promptly and accurately.
- Follow individual risk assessments, care plans, and transport requirements.
- Communicate professionally with parents/carers, schools, and management where required.
- Follow safeguarding, emergency, health & safety, and data protection procedures at all times.
Essential Requirements
- Right to work in the UK.
- Ability to work during school transport hours (morning and afternoon runs).
- Good communication skills and a caring, patient approach.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Willingness to undertake mandatory training.
- Able to obtain or already hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate with Children's Barred List Check.

Desirable
- Previous experience in SEN transport, care work, education support, health and social care, passenger assistance, or community transport.
- Existing Enhanced DBS Certificate.
- PATS (Passenger Assistant Training Scheme) Certification.
Training Provided
Successful applicants will be required to complete or refresh relevant training, including:
- PATS (Passenger Assistant Training Scheme)
- Basic Safeguarding & Safeguarding Procedures
- Managing Challenging Behaviour
- Emergency Procedures and Protocols
- Safe Use of Seatbelts, Restraints, Child Seats, and Locking Mechanisms
