Salary: £37,077 per annum plus essential car user allowance
Location: North and South Regions including Staffordshire, Wolverhampton, Dudley and Stoke-on-Trent
Hours: 36 hours per week

We're looking for a proactive and customer-focused Housing Officer to join our Housing Management Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supporting customers, sustaining tenancies, and maintaining thriving communities across our regions.

What You’ll be Doing:
As a Housing Officer, you will provide a comprehensive Housing Management service across a designated geographic area, delivering both tenancy and income management responsibilities.
Your key responsibilities will include:

Maximising income collection from tenants, leaseholders, shared owners and former tenants.

Assessing customers' ability to pay rent, service charges and other debts, and making referrals to appropriate internal and external support services.

Identifying, investigating and resolving tenancy breaches promptly and effectively.

Providing advice and guidance to help customers successfully sustain their tenancies.

Delivering a responsive tenancy and estate management service to a diverse customer base.

Conducting home visits, estate inspections, customer surgeries, estate walkabouts and community engagement activities.

Building positive relationships with customers, colleagues and partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes.
What we are looking for
We're seeking someone with excellent communication, problem-solving and relationship-building skills, together with a genuine commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
You will ideally have:

A good understanding of the challenges facing the housing sector and the regulatory and legal frameworks that govern social housing.

Experience working within a customer-focused environment.

The ability to manage a varied workload, make informed decisions and work independently.

Strong interpersonal skills with the confidence to engage with customers from a wide range of backgrounds.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
-
CIH Level 3 Certificate in Housing Practice or a similar housing-related qualification.

Degree-level education or equivalent through relevant training and experience.
-
Three A-Level grades A-C.
-
At least one year's experience in a customer-focused role.
