City Food & Drink Catering Services are an independent company looking to recruit a Catering Assistant to join our kitchen team. Position’s will cover a wide variety of kitchen duties such as food preparation, cleaning, stock control and service. The successful candidate will be capable of working independently and part of a team. Able to work to deadlines, prioritise tasks and communicate effectively. Be reliable, self-motivated and hard working. Hours will include evenings & weekends. Experience is preferable, however all training will be given to the right candidate. There will also be the possibility of further training to become a sous chef.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Working in a busy kitchen environment.
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate – Level 1.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures / systems.
- Knowledge of food safety management systems.
- High levels of personal hygiene.
- Awareness of health & safety.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Preparation of food and cooking for buffets and working lunches etc.
- Plating and serving meals, collecting used crockery and cutlery.
- Cleaning duties in the kitchen and dining areas, washing of kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery etc.
- Preparation of the function room either on or off site at clients chosen venue.
- Restocking, checking in deliveries and accurately labelling and storing food items.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Zero hours contract
Pay: £12.71 per hour
