Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in food preparation and cooking, with a keen eye for food safety and hygiene standards. Duties
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes, adhering to established recipes and standards
- Support the team in food production, ensuring timely delivery during service periods
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in accordance with food safety regulations
- Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and storage organisation
- Contribute to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety within the kitchen environment
- Support supervising staff in training junior team members and ensuring team management protocols are followed
- Participate in menu planning and development alongside senior chefs
- Serve food efficiently during service, ensuring presentation meets quality standards
- Uphold excellent customer service by maintaining professionalism and teamwork at all times
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen environments within hospitality or restaurant settings
- Demonstrated knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards
- Experience supervising or managing teams is desirable but not essential; leadership qualities are valued
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Previous experience in food production, restaurant service, or culinary roles is advantageous
- A genuine passion for culinary arts and hospitality excellence
