We are looking for a reliable, friendly and hardworking Trade Counter & Warehouse Assistant to join our team at Wakefield Fascia Building Plastics.
This is a varied, hands-on role involving serving customers at the trade counter, providing product advice, picking and loading orders, working in the warehouse and making local deliveries.
Previous experience within the building trade or building plastics industry would be an advantage, but full training will be provided to the right person.
The Role
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Serving customers and tradespeople at the trade counter
- Taking orders and providing advice on our range of building products
- Answering customer enquiries in person and over the phone
- Picking, checking and preparing customer orders
- Loading and unloading deliveries
- Keeping the warehouse and trade counter clean, tidy and organised
- Making local deliveries when required
- Driving company vehicles safely and responsibly
- Working as part of a small, friendly team
- Following company health & safety procedures
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, approachable and confident dealing with customers
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Physically fit and comfortable working in a warehouse environment
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions when required
- Organised with good attention to detail
- Willing to learn about building plastics and associated products
- Customer-focused with a positive attitude
Knowledge of building plastics, roofing, fascias, soffits, cladding or other building materials would be highly advantageous.
Essential Requirements
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Previous experience in a customer-facing, warehouse, trade counter or building trade role is preferred
- Good communication skills
- Ability to safely lift and handle building materials
- Good level of reliability and attendance
Working Hours
Standard working hours:
- Monday to Friday: 7:15am – 3:15pm
- Alternate Saturdays: 8:00am – 12:00pm
Working hours may be adjusted from time to time to meet the needs and demands of the business.
Overtime may be available and will be offered where required and agreed in advance.
Pay: From £26,800.00 per year
