We are seeking a Certification Engineer to support the development, maintenance and growth of the company’s certification portfolio. This role will coordinate certification activities, prepare technical information for certification, and review outputs from certification bodies. Working closely with the Head of Technical Services and Technical Manager, the Certification Engineer will help ensure certification continuity and support future compliance requirements.
Key responsibilities
· Support development and maintenance of third-party certification schemes.
· Review project-specific requirements and identify the certification route required.
· Coordinate certification activities with certification bodies, and internal departments.
· Manage certification applications, renewals, scope extensions and supporting technical information.
· Assist with management of EN 1634 transition activities and future certification programs.
· Prepare technical specifications, drawings and supporting documentation for certification programs.
· Maintain certification records, evidence registers and supporting documentation.
· Review assessments, EXAPs and technical documentation produced by third parties for accuracy and applicability before final issue.
· Identify evidence gaps and support development of future test requirements.
· Ensure certification documentation is controlled, traceable and suitable for audit or customer evidence requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
· Experience within a technical, compliance, certification or quality environment.
· Ability to interpret technical documentation, drawings and standards.
· Strong organisational and document management skills.
· Experience of liaising with external organisations and stakeholders.
· Good written and verbal communication skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable
· Experience with third-party certification schemes.
· Experience within manufacturing or construction products.
· Knowledge of fire, smoke, acoustic or security performance testing.
· Experience working with certification bodies or test laboratories.
· Experience maintaining technical evidence databases or controlled certification records.
