Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Early Years Practitioner to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and supporting early childhood education activities, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your management and leadership skills whilst fostering the development of young children in a professional setting.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of early years practitioners, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards of care and education.
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging age-appropriate activities that promote children’s development across all areas.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication.
- Monitor and record children's progress, ensuring individual needs are met and documented accurately.
- Support the implementation of policies related to safeguarding, behaviour management, and inclusive practice.
- Assist with organising daily routines such as meal times, naps, and play sessions.
- Contribute to ongoing staff training programmes to promote professional development within the team.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to early childhood education.
Skills
- Proven management and leadership experience within early years or childcare settings.
- Extensive experience working with children in nursery or early childhood education environments.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in childcare.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively within a busy environment.
- Compassionate approach with a genuine passion for supporting young children’s growth and learning.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and planning.
- Valid driving licence is desirable for travelling between different settings or parent meetings.
