Role Overview:
We are seeking a proactive HGV Driver / Yard Operative to join our team. This dual-role position involves delivering and collecting roofing materials to and from our job sites across London, as well as assisting with general yard duties when not on the road.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive company HGV / Van to deliver and collect materials to/from job sites
- Assist with loading and unloading of materials
- Perform general yard duties including stock management and site organisation
- Operate a forklift (if licensed)
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the yard and vehicle
- Ensure timely and safe transportation of goods
- Carry out basic vehicle checks and report any issues
- Work closely with the site team and office staff to coordinate logistics
Requirements:
- Full UK Class 2 driving licence (clean preferred)
- Hi-Ab certificate (preferred)
- Experience driving in London
- Knowledge of basic yard operations
- Good time management and communication skills
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks
- Team player with a can-do attitude
Preferred (but not essential):
- Forklift licence
- Hi-Ab certificate (preferred)
- Knowledge of FORS (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme)
- Experience in a roofing or construction-related environment
