The role involves working trust-wide with staff from all disciplines, ensuring that patients requiring transfusion of blood components and blood products receive the highest standard of safe and effective care.
The successful candidate will be a keen, well organised and motivated individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The role requires a high level of contact with the blood bank team and clinical teams across the Trust and includes the occasional requirement to liaise with patients and relatives. Being able to work both autonomously and as part of a team are also essential skills required for the role.
To apply, you must be a state registered healthcare professional (NMC, HCPC), educated to an appropriate level with a minimum of two years post registration experience. Knowledge and experience of the transfusion processes is essential.
The post will be based within the Blood Bank departments of both the Leeds General Infirmary and St. James’s University Hospital sites, but there is an expectation to occasionally travel to our other hospital sites when required.
