About the role
BrickHaus LEGO Café is looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and customer-focused Barista & Team Member to join our team in Wellington.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in delivering excellent service and can bring energy and personality to a busy café environment.
You’ll be responsible for creating a great experience for every customer — from welcoming guests and taking orders, to preparing quality coffee and providing attentive table service.
Ideally, applicants should have at least 1 year of hospitality or café experience and good barista skills. Applicants must be over 18 years of age.
What we’re looking for
The ideal candidate will have:
- Level 2 Food Hygiene certification
- DBS will be required - the company will pay for this.
- Previous experience as a barista
- Knowledge of food safety practices to ensure hygiene and compliance standards are met
- Experience in serving customers in fast-paced environments demonstrates strong communication skills
- Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately and managing cash registers
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail during busy hours
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks and deliver excellent service consistently
- Experience taking customer orders and handling payments
- Experience providing high-standard table service
- A friendly, positive and energetic personality
- Excellent customer service skills and a genuine desire to keep customers happy
- The ability to work efficiently in a busy environment while maintaining high standards
- Good attention to detail and pride in your work
- A reliable and professional approach to work
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks and deliver excellent service consistently
An interest in LEGO would be advantageous, but it’s definitely not essential. What matters most is your enthusiasm for people, great service and creating a memorable experience for our customers.
