Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and experienced Front of House person to join our fantastic, hard-working team. Main days we require availability it Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon & Tues but there is some flexibility with this and we will be able to offer weekends off, with notice as we do have team who jump in to cover.
You will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service, preparing and serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This position offers an opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic café and casual restaurant setting, ensuring customers enjoy a memorable experience. Previous barista experience would be a great boost - desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.
This position would suit someone with prior front of house experience in a similar setting, who can hit the ground running in a busy venue!
We're a small team, so looking for someone who shares a genuine love for good food and coffee, is easy going - to fit in with our company culture - and knows the importance of excellent customer service to maintain our reputation.
All staff working service will get a share of tips, based on hours worked.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and speciality drinks, adhering to company standards.
- Assist with food preparation tasks and organising display counters.
- Serve customers efficiently at the till or table, ensuring friendly and professional interaction at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including tables, counters, kitchen equipment, and dining spaces.
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts, placing orders where necessary or in absence of a manager
- Support the team in maintaining food safety regulations and hygiene standards diligently.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service without compromising quality.
Qualifications
- 1 year's previous experience as a barista or in Front of House team lead / supervisor role who is used to a busy service; additional training will be provided for suitable candidates.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and allergens.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment and read a room during busy spells
- Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks during busy periods.
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly and approachable manner.
- Ability to work well within a team and independently when required. This role offers an engaging work environment where your enthusiasm for customer service can shine through while developing valuable skills within the hospitality industry.
