**Job Description:**
As a Cook at The Sizzler, you will play a crucial role in delivering a delightful dining experience to our customers. Your responsibilities will encompass various aspects of the cafe operation, primarily focused on preparing our menu items, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and managing inventory. Your passion for cooking and attention to detail will ensure our customers receive high-quality meals consistently.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Prepare and cook menu items according to cafe standards.
- Ensure food quality and presentation meet customer expectations.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining area.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to minimize waste and ensure product availability.
- Collaborate with the cafe team to uphold food safety and hygiene standards.
- Assist in menu planning, and cost control.
- Provide exceptional customer service by accommodating special requests and dietary preferences.
- Contribute to a positive and efficient kitchen environment.
- Occasionally, assist with front-of-house duties, including taking customer orders, delivering food to tables, and providing friendly and attentive customer service.
- Maintain the overall cleanliness and hygiene of the cafe premises, including but not limited to:
- Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils.
- Sweeping and mopping floors in the kitchen and dining area.
- Cleaning and sanitizing dining tables, chairs, and countertops.
- Ensuring restrooms are clean, well-stocked, and presentable.
- Emptying trash bins and recycling containers regularly.
- Monitoring and replenishing cleaning supplies as needed.
**Requirements:**
- Proven experience as a cook or similar role in a cafe or restaurant setting.
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Food safety certification is a plus.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
