Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic School Sports PE PPA Coach and Coordinator to support our physical education programme. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to inspire students through sport, organise engaging activities, and coordinate sports events across the school. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for teaching, excellent organisational skills, and experience in sports coaching. This role is essential in fostering a positive sporting environment that promotes teamwork, fitness, and personal development among pupils.
Duties
- Deliver high-quality PE lessons, lunchtime, and after school sports coaching sessions to pupils across various age groups.
- Organise and oversee extracurricular sports activities and competitions, ensuring inclusive participation.
- Coordinate coaching team rota, updates, certification, and compliance.
- Manage social media accounts and posts, generate content.
- Liaise with teaching staff to schedule sports events and manage resources effectively.
- Monitor behaviour during activities, promoting good sportsmanship and maintaining a safe environment.
- Assist in developing the school’s sports programme by planning new initiatives and activities.
- Support pupils’ personal development through encouragement, behaviour management, and mentorship during sporting activities.
- Maintain equipment inventories, ensuring all sports gear is safe, clean, and ready for use.
- Liaise with external coaches or organisations when necessary to enhance the school’s sporting offerings.
Skills
- Proven experience in sports coaching or physical education teaching.
- Strong behaviour management skills to motivate pupils and maintain discipline during activities.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Fluency in English with the ability to deliver clear instructions and feedback.
- Organisational skills to plan programmes, manage schedules, and coordinate events efficiently.
- Ability to inspire enthusiasm for sport and physical activity among students of all abilities.
- Competence in teaching physical education with a focus on safety, inclusivity, and enjoyment.
