Kitchen Porter (Part-Time & Full-Time)

About Us
Aroma of India is a family-run Indian restaurant known for its authentic cuisine, warm hospitality, and welcoming atmosphere. We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team. This is a vital role that helps keep the kitchen running smoothly and efficiently during busy service.
Hours Available
- Students: Approximately 20 hours per week
- Non-students: Approximately 30–35 hours per week
- Evening and weekend availability is essential.
Pay
- National Minimum Wage (depending on age)
Key Responsibilities
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Keep the kitchen, pot wash area, and storage areas clean and organised.
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation when required.
- Empty bins and ensure waste is disposed of correctly.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors, maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Restock cleaning supplies and kitchen essentials.
- Help with deliveries and storing stock appropriately.
- Follow all food hygiene and health & safety procedures.
- Assist the kitchen team with general duties to ensure smooth service.
What We're Looking For
- Applicants must be 20 years of age or older.
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter or in a hospitality environment is essential.
- Hardworking, reliable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organisational skills and attention to cleanliness.
- Able to work well as part of a team.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
