Duties
- Develop and manage transportation plans that maximise efficiency, reduce costs, and meet delivery deadlines.
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to schedule shipments, track deliveries, and analyze data for continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PL), warehouses, and carriers to ensure seamless shipping & receiving operations.
- Oversee materials handling activities, including picking & packing processes within warehouse environments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Monitor shipping schedules, update shipment statuses, and resolve any logistical issues promptly to prevent delays.
- Conduct data analysis to identify process bottlenecks and implement strategies for process improvement in transportation workflows.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards such as forklift operation and warehouse safety protocols during materials handling activities.
Experience
- Proven experience in logistics or transportation planning
- Strong knowledge of category management principles and supply chain processes.
- Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures, materials handling equipment including forklifts, and warehouse safety standards.
- Prior experience working with ERP systems and 3PL providers is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to improve processes through innovative solutions and effective project management.
