Overview
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Builder to join our coachworks team. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing accident damaged bus and coach works. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of fabrication to contribute to diverse projects. Prior coachbuilding experience and familiarity with hand and power tools are essential. Previous experience in PSVAR conversations, seat fitting and glass replacement would be advantageous The position is fully paid, including further development opportunities, and provides a chance to enhance practical skills within a professional environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicles ready for paint shop
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to assemble structural components
- Install fixtures, fittings, and structural elements according to vehicle requirements
- Assist in the preparation of vehicles by organising materials and ensuring safety protocols are followed
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workspace to promote safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects within specified timeframes
- Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure standards are met or exceeded
- Ability to reskin panel
- Fluent in cataloy repairs and fibre glass repairs
Qualifications
- Proven experience in coach building or accident repair is preferred
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Ability to interpret technical drawings for parts would be preferred but not essential
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods
- Previous coach building / accident damage experience is essential; willingness to learn is important
- A valid UK driving licence is beneficial but not mandatory
