Start a Career in Food Production
Italo Pizza Lab is an artisan pizza manufacturer producing authentic pizza bases and doughballs for customers throughout the UK.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking person to join our team as a Pizza Production All-Rounder. This is an excellent opportunity for a college leaver or someone at the beginning of their working life who wants to learn practical skills and build a career in food manufacturing.
You do not need previous factory experience. We will train you from the beginning, provided you have a positive attitude, are willing to learn and are not afraid of physical work.
What You Will Learn
You will begin with essential factory duties and gradually receive training in more skilled production work. Your training will include:
- Following personal hygiene, allergen and food-safety procedures
- Cleaning production areas, machinery and equipment
- Making and preparing boxes
- Packing and labelling finished products
- Putting products into freezers and storage areas
- Moving ingredients, trays and finished products
- Completing production and food-safety checks
- Assisting on our pizza baking lines
- Preparing and mixing pizza dough
- Dividing and shaping doughballs
Preparing dough and dividing and shaping doughballs are skilled parts of our production process. These duties will form the final stage of your training once you have demonstrated reliability, food-safety awareness and competence in the other areas of the factory.
As your experience develops, there may be opportunities to learn more about production planning, quality control, food safety, machinery operation and team supervision.
Please Be Aware
This is a physically demanding, hands-on job. It involves:

- Moving baking trays loaded with doughballs
- Standing and moving for most of the working day
- Working around hot ovens and production lines
- Working inside chilled and freezer areas
- Cleaning production equipment and factory areas
- Carrying out repetitive tasks during busy production runs
- Working overtime when production requirements make it necessary
Start times vary between 7:00am and 9:00am depending on the production schedule. Applicants must be flexible about their start times and prepared to work additional hours when required. Reasonable notice will be given wherever possible.
Who We Are Looking For
The right person will:
- Be reliable and arrive on time
- Have a strong work ethic
- Be physically capable of carrying out the role
- Be flexible about start times and overtime
